Alpine Fine Gardening is dedicated to cultivating outdoor spaces that are as sustainable as they are beautiful. Based in Colorado, we specialize in designing and installing gardens that thrive in our unique climate, featuring drought-tolerant and pollinator-friendly plantings.
Alpine Fine Gardening, Ltd. was started by Erin Decker in 2025. Erin is an communications professional, an educator and a lifelong gardener who holds a Colorado Master Gardener Certificate and Native Plant Master Certificate. As the Volunteer and Program coordinator for Colorado State University Extension, Erin ran the volunteer programs for Jefferson County Master Gardeners and the Statewide Native Plant Master Program.
Previously Erin worked with the University of Colorado and Denver Urban Gardens on the Community Activation for Prevention Study, a three-year, multi-university, double-blind randomized controlled trial. The trial was funded by the American Cancer Society and studied the impacts of community gardening on health and prevention measures for cancer.
Erin is a natural problem solver and lover of nature. She grew up in rural Vermont farming the land with her family, keeping bees, and caring for the local ecology.
Volunteering on the Leadership Team for her Community Wildfire Implementation Plan Unit led her to identify a gap between the wildfire and pine beetle mitigation taking place in her foothills community, and measures being taken to restore the land after mitigation has taken place.
Thus was born Alpine Fine Gardening and The Mountain Vegetation Project, sister companies designed to provide wraparound landscape support to mountain landowners. The Mountain Vegetation Project is in it’s startup phase and is looking for landowners who would like to invest in restoration on their land after it has been mitigated for wildfire or pine beetle. In 2026 Alpine Fine Gardening was awarded a grant from the Colorado Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Workforce Development Program. Your investment in a design plan or installation with us supports the growth of a sustainable, high altitude gardening business that prioritizes biodiversity.
