Alpine Fine Gardening, Ltd. is the brainchild of Erin Decker, established in 2025. Erin is an communications professional, an educator and a lifelong gardener who holds a Colorado Master Gardener Certificate and Native Plant Master Certificate.
Erin has worked and volunteered in a variety of outdoor, gardening, and forest settings throughout her career. While volunteering with her Community Wildfire Implementation Plan Unit’s leadership team Erin realized there was massive wildfire and pine beetle mitigation taking place, and few proactive measures being implement to prevent invasive species and restore the land.
In 2026 Alpine Fine Gardening was awarded a grant from the Colorado Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Workforce Development Program.

Erin was a Research Assistant with the Community Activation for Prevention Study, a three-year, multi-university, double-blind randomized controlled research study thru the University of Colorado, Denver Urban Gardens, and other partners. The American Cancer Society helped the research team study the impacts of community gardening on health and prevention measures for cancer.
Erin was the Volunteer and Program coordinator for Colorado State University Extension Jefferson County Master Gardeners and the Interim Director for the Statewide Native Plant Master Program. She has volunteered with the Twin Eagles Wilderness School in Idaho, Farm and Wilderness Foundation in Vermont, and with Wildlands Restoration Volunteers, The Thorne Nature Experience, and Denver Urban Gardens in Colorado.
Erin is a natural problem solver and lover of nature. Erin lives at 8’500 ft. and learned perennial gardening at altitude the hard way.
Growing up in rural Vermont, farming the land with her family, keeping bees, she learned perseverance. Thus she finally has a happy high-altitude garden where she loves spending time with her dog and family.
